Astrophysics is a Science Skill in Starfield that allows you to scan systems faster and increase the chance to discover a Trait!

| 1. You can scan the moons of your current planet. You have a 10% chance to discover a trait when scanning. 2. You can scan any planet or moon in this system. You have a 20% chance to discover a trait when scanning. 3. You can scan any planet or moon within 16 Light Years. You have a 30% chance to discover a trait when scanning. 4. You can scan any planet or moon within 30 Light Years. You have a 50% chance to discover a trait when scanning. |
To unlock each Rank of the Skill above rank 1, you need to complete a challenge. The challenges for the Astrophysics Ranks are:
- Rank 1: Scan 10 unique planets or moons.
- Rank 2: Scan 25 unique planets or moons.
- Rank 3: Scan 30 unique planets or moons.
