Virulent Shot is a special Ability Altering Set, obtainable from the Blackrose Prison Arena. The Set belongs to a special category of Sets called Blackrose Weapons, that represent a category of in-game weapons each. This is basically The Blackrose Bow, available as a random drop from defeating the last boss of the Blackrose Prison Arena in Veteran Difficulty. The Set adds Critical Chance and makes the skill Scatter Shot and its Morphs to apply a damage over time effect that deals a % of your initial attack as Poison Damage. The duration increases if you are farther away from your target.
To benefit from this Set you must use the Scatter Shot Bow Skill or its Morphs. Can be used effectively mostly on PVP Builds that use Scatter Shot and its morphs to deal damage and push enemies away. Longbow is a nice example of a PVP Build that could use the Set with success. The Set has a normal and a Perfect Version. Its Perfect Version adds Critical Chance and drops from the Blackrose Prison Arena in Veteran difficulty. A decent Bow Weapon Set to use in PVP mostly to boost your survivability and offense. The Perfect Version could benefit PVE Builds as well thanks to its extra Critical Chance.
