Using the right Weapon for the right job will make your adventure easier. There are plenty of Weapons you can choose from in the game, that offer significant advantages but also disadvantages. Depending on the Build you wish to follow you can pick a weapon that will suit you the most.

Weapons Types in Starfield

There are a few different categories of weapons in Starfield. The various Weapon Types you can use are:

• Ballistic Weapons
• Energy Weapons
• Electromagnetic Weapons
• Melee Weapons
• Explosives

Weapons that belong in the above categories are further divided in Rifles, Pistols, Heavy Weapons, Grenades, Mines, Knives, Swords and more. You can use every weapon from the beginning of the game but in order to become efficient with a certain type, you will have to unlock and rank up the appropriate skill. For example, if you wish to use Rifles then you should unlock the Rifle Certification Skill. Weapons also come in different rarity. There are four levels of weapon rarity in Starfield:

• Common(White)
• Rare(Blue)
• Epic(Purple)
• Legendary(Gold)

The higher the rarity of a weapon, the better its stats are but also the more perks it has. Perks offer additional bonuses that can alter how you use a weapon.

You can further enhance the capabilities of a Weapon by adding Weapon Mods to it! Weapon Mods are crafted items that can alter your weapon and offer additional bonuses. Weapons can have up to nine mods that can boost range, accuracy, damage and other stats. To add the best Weapon Mods to your Weapons, you will have to unlock and rank up the Weapon Engineering Skill! There are also Unique Weapons in Starfield. Unique Weapons are named variations of base weapons with much better stats. To acquire them you will have to complete a mission or fulfill another specific task.

Pistols Weapons in Starfield

All Pistols in Starfield. To use these weapons effectively you will have to invest in the Pistol Certification skill, as well as the appropriate weapon category(Balistics, Laser, Particle Beams). Pistols are great for Builds that do no focus too much on combat and just need a light weapon to protect themselves. Some Builds that can use Pistols are:

• Explorer
• Pistol Expert

Rifles Weapons in Starfield

All Rifles in Starfield. Rifles are great weapons to use if you wish to engage enemies from distance. Rifles make excellent Sniper weapons as well! Unlocking the Rifle Certification skill will boost your damage with rifles. Some Builds that can use Rifles are:

• Bounty Hunter Build
• Heavy Weapons Build
• Laser Weapons Expert Build
• Soldier Build
• Stealth Sniper Build

Shotguns Weapons in Starfield

All Shotguns in Starfield! Shotguns are excellent weapons for close quarters combat. Builds that fight often inside buildings or Starships can make great use of this type of Weapon. Unlocking the Shotgun Certification Skill will boost your damage with shotguns. Some Builds that can use Shotguns are:

• Bounty Hunter Build
• Pirate Build

Heavy Weapons in Starfield

All Heavy Weapons in Starfield. Heavy Weapons deal significant damage to enemies but they are also slower to fire and heavier to carry around. Unlocking the Heavy Weapons Certification Skill will boost your damage with them. Some Builds that can use Heavy Weapons are:

• Heavy Weapons Build

Melee Weapons in Starfield

All Melee Weapons in Starfield. Melee Weapons can deal massive damage when used by melee dedicated builds. Require you to be close to your enemies so they have a higher risk. To get the most of melee weapons you will have to unlock the Dueling Skill. Some Builds that can use Melee Weapons are:

• Melee Brawler Build
• Stealth Assassin build

Explosives in Starfield

All Explosives in Starfield. Explosives include grenades and mines you can find in the game. Every character can use them but to boost their damage you should unlock the Demolitions skill. Some Builds that can use Explosives well are:

• Heavy Weapons Build

You can combine the above weapons and deal massive damage depending on your Build and skills! Weapons in Starfield are vital for every play style except one, the Unarmed Gameplay!
